Day 1 Arrive in Whitehorse
You’ll be greeted at the airport and driven to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse where you'll be staying for the duration of this tour. Our Canada vacation packages have you in the most central locations - all stores and sights are within easy walking distance, so you can explore this lively northern town on your own. At 09:30 p.m. you’ll depart for the first night of Aurora viewing. At the cozy trading post, hot drinks and snacks, will make your Aurora viewing even more enjoyable.
Day 2 Whitehorse - Capital of the Yukon Territory
Explore the capital of the Yukon on vacations to northern Canada; during the city tour see the historic station of the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad, an amazing Log Skyscraper, old Log Church and the paddle wheeler SS Klondike. At the Wildlife Preserve on the way to the Takhini Hot Springs you can see most of the wildlife native to the Yukon such as moose, caribou, bison, dall sheep, big horn sheep and musk oxen. Lunch is at Takhini Hot Springs with time for a leisurely swim in the hot waters.
Return to Whitehorse for one of the highlights of your Canada vacation - a 20 minute sightseeing flight over the local area with beautiful views over Lake Labarge and Marsh Lake. At 09.30 p.m. depart for a second night of Aurora viewing, sit around the roaring fire sharing the days memories.
Day 3 Snowmobiling
A unique feature on northern Canada vacation packages, this is the day for your snowmobiling adventure at Fish Lake. Head off across the lake and into some of the most beautiful mountain scenery you’ve ever seen. Lunch is served on the trail; return to Whitehorse in the late afternoon.
Tonight is the last chance to witness natures most spectacular light show, as you enjoy an evening viewing the Northern Lights.
Day 4 Learn to mush a dog sled
Dogsledding is a must on all Canada vacation packages where snow is abundant! Enjoy a full day dog sledding tour along the Takhini River and into the Ibex Valley west of Whitehorse. Receive instructions on the finer points of mushing and safety on the trail before meeting your own team of dogs and off you go! Lunch is served along the trail when both, the mushers and the dogs need a well deserved break.
By late afternoon you'll return to the kennel for a mug of coffee or hot chocolate before saying goodbye to your dog team and heading back to Whitehorse.
