Before the winter nights set in, imagine yourself waking up in a comfortable bed in a cozy country inn with the sun streaming in over a landscape of fields and farms - and woods of brilliant reds, oranges and golds, under a cobalt-blue sky.
Breakfast never tasted so good! And the day is free for you to explore the countryside and the fascinating cities of Quebec - a taste of France right here on your doorstep.
This carefully paced Canada vacation package is the perfect getaway for late September and early October - when summer is over but you are not yet quite ready to settle into the long nights and cold days of winter.
Fall is a very special time in Canada - for many, the best time of year. It does not last long - just a few short weeks - but perhaps it is the fact that this season is so fleeting that makes it so special.
In eastern Canada the colors are world-famous because it is the native maples and oaks, and the combination of cold nights and warm sunny days, that give the woods their amazing bloom, and make the world seem so vivid and precious.
And on this self-drive journey at your own pace, you will enjoy staying at some really special inns, such as La Sapiniere in the Laurentian Mountains - virtually an institution in Quebec that just celebrated its 70th anniversar - and Le Baluchon in the Trois Rivieres region , where the design, food and wine combine to make your stay an unforgettable experience in harmony with nature.
So don’t delay - call one of our Personal Trip Advisors today to secure your place on this most romantic and rejuvenating of short getaways.

ITINERARY
Day 1 – Your Canada Vacation Package Begins - Arrival in Montreal
After settling into your hotel explore this unique cosmopolitan city at your own pace. Walk around the Old Town, with its cobbled streets, stone buildings, and rich maritime history; marvel at the creativity of street entertainers and the sophistication of the shopping; or sit in an outdoor cafe and sample some of the wonderful French food and wine that is a feature of this journey. Overnight in Montreal.
Day 2 – The Laurentian Mountains
This morning pick up your hire-car and begin your journey, traveling at your own pace into the gently rolling Laurentian Mountains, which in late September and early October are in full autumnal show. Prepare to stop at regular intervals as you come across yet another tree or wood that is particularly gorgeous or set in a picture-perfect landscape of pastures and old barns. Overnight at the quaint Hotel La Sapinere in Val David.
Day 3 - Getting Outside to Play on Vacations in Canada!
Today we suggest a little light activity to embrace that warm, fresh Fall air - and your package includes a choice of two options:
• A combined kayak and bicycle trip - a gentle journey down a lazy river surrounded by glorious colors, and then an easy cycle back along a disused railway line that’s nice and flat... or,
• A self-guided bicycle ride at your own pace, though charming Laurentian villages, stopping to get lunch at a local bakery or an inn as you choose.
Later, drive a few hours through beautiful scenery to Saint Paulin and the Auberge Le Baluchon for an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Canada Vacation from Trois Rivieres to Quebec City
Today you continue on your scenic drive - this time along the St Lawrence River to the provincial capital, Quebec City. There after settling into your cozy hotel you may join a tour to learn about the fascinating history of this walled city - the Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham and the Citadel, to name a few. Overnight in Quebec City.
Day 5 – Depart Quebec City
Your Canada vacation package, alas, ends today - but before you head off to the airport we have an extra treat - a one hour Fine Foods Tour on a bicycle rickshaw! You’ll learn more about the gastronomic culture of Quebec City , and perhaps find some delicacies to take home from your visit to this uniquely French part of Canada.
