ITINERARY
Join us as we explore the home of the all white ‘Spirit Bear’ on this unique Canada vacation package. Keeping our eyes keen and cameras ready for bears and wolves you'll experience the mystery of the estuaries of Fiordland Provincial Park. With a local Gita'at Guide we will learn about their native culture while exploring the native village of Old Heartley Bay and searching the shoreline for pictoglyphs.
The Great Bear Rainforest comprises of islands and intricate waterways beneath towering mountains. The lush, coastal temperate forests are alive with eagles, ravens, salmon, bears and wolves. Experience amazing sights from wildlife to ten thousand year old native cultures on vacations in Canada
Take the opportunity to adventure along these waterways, inside the forest, seek for wildlife, meet native guides and learn why the Great Bear Rainforest is one of the last gems on the Pacific Coast.
A far from typical day on vacations in Canada
The ‘Great Bear Rainforest’ region holds the largest remaining areas of original coastal rainforest left on the entire Pacific coast. Significant populations of black, grizzly and Kermode bear are supported by the abundant salmon runs, and lack of human development.
This vacation package is more than an exploration aimed at just seeking out bears. You will focus on the richness of the biological diversity of this special area. Adventure into the domain of the Great Bear to see eagles, ravens, salmon, bears and wolves.
Daily plans are flexible to accommodate the surprises that you encounter each trip, the requirements of tide and weather, and the interests of the group. On vacations in Canada you quickly learn that wildlife is wild life and have their own agenda.
You visit and explore with permission of the local Gitga’at and Kitasoo native groups. We plan to spend a day with local Gitga’at guides sharing their culture and history, and leading us to their favorite bear viewing sites.
Meals are prepared by a professional cook during the trip. Ample quantities of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, grains and dairy products provide for delicious buffet style meals. You can be confident that you will be very impressed with the variety and excellence of the meals. Complimentary wines are served with dinner. There is no bar onboard to purchase additional drinks. Guests are responsible and welcome to bring their own cocktail, beer and soft drinks.
Experience amazing wildlife, rich culture, delicious meals and sweet wines on vacation packages in Canada.
