ITINERARY
Day 1 - Anchorage Arrival
Your Alaska vacation begins with your independent arrival in Anchorage and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the eclectic charms of Anchorage as you breathe in the fresh air and take in the beautiful wilderness surroundings that will be the basis for your Alaska winter holiday vacation. Overnight Aspen Hotel or similar.
Day 2 - Anchorage to Girdwood (68 km)
Pick up your rental car this morning and drive the picturesque highway along Turnagain Arm to Girdwood. Once at Alaska’s Alyeska Prince Hotel you can explore the area and enjoy one of the exciting outdoor winter sports available on vacations in Alaska. In the evening relax in the whirlpool or go for a swim.
Day 3 - Alyeska Ski Resort
Spend this day of your Alaska vacation however you wish. We included an “Activity Voucher” for each person giving you the flexibility to participate in the activities that interest you most. The Voucher is good towards ONE of the following fun Alaska vacations activities:
• 1 all-day adult lift ticket
• Cross-country ski rental for 2 consecutive days
• 1 day of high-performance ski rental
• 1 day snow shoe rental & 1 tram/lunch combo
• Special powder clinic (when available)
• 1 full ski tuning
• Tubing park tickets for 2
• 1 dinner in the Pond Café (special menu)
In the evening have dinner at the Seven Glaciers Restaurant located at the top of Mt. Alyeska (2300 ft)and can be reached by tram (not included). Overnight Alyeska Prince Hotel.
Day 4 - Alyeska Ski Resort - Anchorage (68 km)
Another Alaska vacations Activity Voucher is valid to use today before checking out of the hotel. You will return your rental car at this time to prepare for boarding the Alaska Railroad. Overnight Aspen Hotel Anchorage or similar.
Day 5 - Alaska Railroad - Anchorage to Fairbanks
This morning you will take the courtesy shuttle to the Anchorage train station to board the famous Alaska Railroad. Alaska vacations by rail will take you through the stunning and memorable winter landscape to Fairbanks. Get your camera ready for spectacular views of the Alaska Range and Mt. McKinley (weather permitting). Overnight Springhill Suites or similar.
Day 6 - Alaska Vacations to Fairbanks - Chena Hot Springs - Northern Light viewing
This morning transfer from Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs Resort (approx 1 hour travel time). After check in, you will have plenty of time to explore the resort and soak in the hot springs. Chena Hot Springs is geographically well positioned for good Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) viewing. For this evening a Northern Lights tour aboard heated snow cats is included. Overnight Chena Hot Springs Resort.
Day 7 - Chena Hot Springs
Today enjoy one of the many outdoor Alaska vacations activities the resort has to offer: guided snowmobiling and dog sledding rides, snow coach tours, cross county skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating and snowshoeing. (Note: these options are not included).
Day 8 - Chena Hot Springs - Fairbanks
Your Alaska vacation comes to an end as you transfer to the airport on your own or start an additional Alaska holiday.
